Joining the Navy so they'll pay for your college expenses? How does that work exactly?

One of my friends is only joining so they'll pay for her college, but I believe there's more to it than just signing up and them paying for everything.Right?

Well, while she is in they pay 100% without eating into the G.I. bill so she can knock out some on-line courses. She just needs to go to her posts education office and apply for reimbursement If she is active duty for three or more years then she will receive the full amount of tuition from the G.I. Bill, $1400 a month to live on, and another $1000 per year for books after she gets out of active duty. After she gets out she can use her G.I. Bill by talking to admissions and they will hook her up with the person who will get her signed up. She needs to be a full time student at that time, and needs to submit a copy of her classes every semester for verification.

After she serves her term she will be eligible for the GI bill. The way it works is like this: She will pay for all of her expenses and then get compensated by the government; they will send her a monthly check. The amount will be determined by the term of her school (full or part time).

There are better ways to have your schooling taken care of.
